Lunch (Breakfast) for the 1st Week of School

Claiborne's New Student Orientation

Parents, you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and tour their classroom. Your child’s teacher will share with you important information about our school and the Winning Cardinal family.

When:

Sunday, August 10, 2014

Kindergarten 3:30pm
Grades 1st-5th 5:00pm

Where:

Claiborne Fundamental Magnet Auditorium

We ask that you please bring your child’s supplies at this time.
Please place all items in a large bag with your child’s name on the outside. At Claiborne we share many of our supplies and it is much easier when no name is on them. Thank you for helping us by not labeling any of the supplies not noted with **.

This also will be a great opportunity for you to join our wonderful PTA. We encourage both parents and grandparents to become members of this wonderful organization that serves our school throughout the year.

Our hope is that by taking care of these matters before your child’s testing time, their day of testing will be less stressful for both you and your child.  We look forward to meeting both you and your child Sunday, August 10th.

First Day of School

Whether you are a new or returning Claiborne student, Claiborne's principal, administration, teachers and staff are waiting to welcome you on Monday, August 11, 2014.

Parents here are some helpful tips for arrival and departure at Claiborne:

ARRIVAL

Children should report to school no earlier than 7:30 a.m.  Supervision does not begin until that time.  School begins at 7:55 a.m.  Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. are considered “TARDY” and must check in through the office.

Parents bringing children to school in cars should use the car drive on the West side of the school.  Persons on duty will assist in unloading students.  All students eating breakfast should go immediately to the cafeteria.  The cafeteria line closes at 7:50. No Exceptions.

DEPARTING

The school day ends at 3:00 p.m.  All staff supervision ends at 3:15.  It is imperative that you pick your child up on time.

Parents are to pick up their child(ren) on the West side driveway.  No children are to be picked up or dropped off at any other location. NO EXCEPTION.  This is for your child’s safety.  For safety reasons, please DO NOT walk through the line of traffic to pick up your child.

To ensure the safety of your child, please notify the office in writing when there is a change in the way your child will leave school.  This should be done even if the change is only for one day.  If a note is not sent to school, your child will go home their regular way.
